Committed to Making THE Difference

May 4, 2012
I'm committed to joy and empowerment.  'Lots of other things, too, but those stand out.

I've been a programmer for about 30 years.  In my third job, we made a real difference in the world.  I've missed that.  In my current job I've enjoyed working with a customer, but it pales besides making a difference for tens of thousands of people.

So about 15 months ago, I began looking for something worth doing.  I began listening... to everything... inside the question, "What would be worth spending my life on?"

Last summer I came up with a question, "What would it be like to have a government we love?"

Imagine having a government we love.  Imagine being proud of what it had accomplished.  Imagine if it had plans that inspired us and gave us confidence.  Imagine it knew what we wanted and delivered that, all the while respecting our rights and the constitution.  That would be worth having.

Whether it "is" possible or not is an academic question.  The question is, How can we realize it?  How do we move it from a possibility into existence?

That's what I'm up to.
